Our Remodeling Process in Deptford, NJ
The hardest part of a building project often has nothing to do with construction. It is not knowing what comes next. This page walks through how a Bulls Eye Building & Remodeling project moves from first phone call to finished space. We work with homeowners in Deptford, Woodbury, and Washington Township, and across Southern New Jersey.

From First Call to Finished Space
Getting Ready for the First Conversation
A little preparation makes the first meeting far more useful. Before calling, sort the wish list into two columns: the things the project has to accomplish, and the things that would be nice if the budget allows. Have a rough budget range in mind, even if it is wide. A range lets the conversation focus on what is realistic instead of what is possible.
Timing matters too. If a holiday, a new baby, or a family visit is on the calendar, mention it up front. And if the home is part of a homeowners association, check whether exterior changes need approval before plans are drawn.
What a New Jersey Home Improvement Contract Includes
New Jersey law gives homeowners specific protections. Under the state's Contractors' Registration Act, a home improvement contract for more than $500 must be in writing and must include:
- the contractor's registration number
- the start and completion dates
- the total price
- a notice of your right to cancel within three business days
Read every contract for those items before signing, whoever you hire. Our registration is listed here so you can verify it with the state:

Planning for Life During Construction
Remodeling happens inside a house people are still living in, so a few practical arrangements help. If the kitchen is out of service, set up a temporary station somewhere else with the refrigerator, a microwave, and a coffee maker. Pets usually do better away from the work area. Figure out where a dumpster or materials delivery can go, since some towns require a permit to place one on the street.
See Where the Process Leads
Finished work is the best explanation of any process. Browse our completed project portfolio for kitchens, bathrooms, additions, and exteriors from around the area. You can also return to the Bulls Eye Building & Remodeling home page for the full list of services.
